Q: How do I make UltraExplorer save the view I have in Details View (column width grouping, etc)?

A: Tools>Options- Choose the Listview Tab-General Group Box>Save View Per Folder and/or Tools>Options- Choose the Listview Tab-General Group Box>Copy Previous Folder

Q: I tried a Total Commander Lister and it crashes UltraExplorer?

A: Some Listers expect TC to be the owner process and try to manipulate the main window. UltraExplorer is not TC so this hack will cause problems. See the Mustangpeak Messagebase under UltraExplorer General Discussions for a list of tested Lister plug-ins. Also look at Alex Torgashin's website for the ATViewer component that is used for this feature in UltraExplorer.

Q: How can I make ZIP files contents to be displayed as a folders like in Windows Explorer?

A: On Windows 2000/XP/Vista you have two choices:

  • Install the built in Zip browser namespace extension, www.annoyances.org is a good place to start
  • Go to the UltraExplorer Tools>Options>Viewer tab, and add "zip" extension to the "Intenet" extensions list, save options. Then click a zip file and call Viewer (F3): zip file contents will be displayed in a Viewer pane.

Q: Where do I find or how can I help contribute more information about UltraExplorer?
